Four decades ago the third overall pick for the 1984 NBA draft would see a young man join the Chicago Bulls following highly successful sophomore and junior seasons. Later in October 1984, that same young man would step out onto the court for the first time, debuting against the Washington Bullets and scoring a respectable 16 points. By the end of the year he’d taken the Bulls from a team that had won 35% of games in their previous three seasons to playoff contendors, and quickly became a fan favourite – opponents included. That however, was only the start of the fan affection, as he’d go on to become arguably the biggest and most loved athlete of all time. 🐐
Of course the man, the myth, the legend, is in fact Michael Jordan. After that debut game he went on to play 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls between 1991 and 1998, including two three-peats in 1991–1993 and 1996–1998. Before that the Bulls had never won a championship nor conference title, yet Jordan came in and transformed them into one of NBA’s greatest dynasties. This fame and success helped both Jordan and the Bulls catapult to popularizing basketball and the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s, with Jordan in particular the face of it all, cementing him as a global cultural icon at a time where there was no smartphones, internet, etc. Jordan would also team up with sports footwear and apparrel brand Nike to launch Air Jordan under the Jumpman logo, which to this day is one of the biggest sportswear collaboration lines in history. 👟

A PSA 8 is a super high-end card that appears PSA 9 at first glance, but upon closer inspection, the card can exhibit the following: a very slight wax stain on reverse, slightest fraying at one or two corners, a minor printing imperfection, and/or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 65/35 to 70/30 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.

How are the winners announced?

How does the winner receive their prize?
