Announced in January 2005 and on sale by the summer, the Astra VXR was based on the fifth-generation Astra and quickly became a much-loved staple of the UK car scene. Not only because of its modern, fantastic styling that was ahead of its time, but also its legendary 2.0-litre inline-four 16V turbo engine.
