Lightweight, analogue, and endlessly iconic, the Mk2 Golf GTI remains one of the greatest hot hatches ever built. This particular example takes that legendary formula and elevates it with one of the most loved upgrades in the Volkswagen world – a full 2.0-litre 16-valve ABF engine conversion, delivering stronger performance while keeping the raw, mechanical character that made the Mk2 a legend.

The conversion was carried out by VRS Performance in Leicester – widely known across the UK as VW Audi performance specialists. Producing around 150 bhp, the rev-happy ABF is the perfect match for the lightweight Mk2 chassis, transforming the car into a genuinely rapid, sharp-driving classic while retaining its original GTI soul.

Finished in extremely rare Schwarz Blue, this car also benefited from extensive yet subtle styling work by Stylehaus, including carefully executed body modifications before receiving a full respray in its original factory colour. The result is a beautifully presented Mk2 that blends classic GTI looks with a cleaner, sharper OEM+ aesthetic.
