The story starts with a Mk2 Audi TT RS the owner ran for nearly three years – caged, Recaro-equipped, show-winning and magazine-featured. With two teenage daughters outgrowing the back seats it stopped getting used, so rather than sell it, he transplanted the entire car into something his family could actually live with.

The base is a Japanese-import 2.0 TFSI Variant – a model that never came to the UK at all – with the extremely rare panoramic roof and an immaculate underside. Every mechanical component from the TT RS then went in, all carried out by Lee the Wizard at LSDAutomotive, modified car specialists in Doncaster. A second donor Mk5 Golf was even bought purely to strip its entire black interior into this car – that’s the level of obsession involved here.

The result is a 1,480 kg estate car with around 550 bhp, 720 Nm, launch control, and a 0–62 mph time of 3.6 seconds. It looks like it should be doing the school run. It will comfortably embarrass supercars.
